Opening the hearings, Ihor Kalietnik, Committee Chairman, stated "enhancement of normative base for conducting of proceedings is an indispensable condition for efficient anti-corruption activity".   

 

The Committee will devote much attention to the legislative aspect of preventing corruption and its criminalization; improvement of anti-corruption education and development of relevant institutions.  

 

Committee Vice-Chairman Mykola Dzhyha, Head of the Working Group in charge of Finalization of a Set of Anti-Corruption Laws, dwelled upon three Bills, namely, on Principles of fighting and preventing Corruption; on Amendments to several Legislative Acts regarding Liability for Corruption Infringements; and on Liability of Legal Entities for the said Infringements.  

 

M.Dzyha considers the following tasks to be of top priority: "study of corruption risk and introduction of efficient practical methods aimed at prevention of corruption in public and private spheres; qualitative reforming of procedural legislation, and defence and law enforcement agencies; establishment of active international cooperation based on professional official principles".

 

The People´s Deputies deem necessary to extend the duties of the Interdepartmental Organized Crime Research Center, focusing them on the corruption fighting issues.

 

The Committee will take into consideration the motions introduced by the attendants of the hearings.
